CSR Conference in Shanghai

23rd of February NBA China in Shanghai together with BI Norwegian Business School invited members and friends for a CSR conference at the Langham hotel in Shanghai. CSR measures and activities have never been so comprehensive and strong. We must understand how CSR is transformed as it travels from North-Western economies to the Southern and Eastern hemispheres.

In order to understand this transformation, four key speakers were invited to share their knowledge. First up was Atle Midttun (Professor, BI Norwegian Business School) and Chen Wei (Senior Advisor, LO). They presented the findings from their competitive study about CSR in China and Nordic countries. Next up was Hanna Hallin, Sustainability Manager from H&M of greater China. Hallin demonstrated how H&M is making fashion sustainable and sustainability fashionable. She shared with the audience how H&M are working towards their vision, that all clothes will be 100% recycled or from other sustainably sourced materials. Last up was Sherrie Xu, Sustainability, Environment and Accountability Manager at Microsoft. She presented how Microsoft is working with CSR in China, redefining the role of business in society.

After the presentation, the nearly 80 attendees enjoyed dinner from the Langham kitchen and mingling. NBA China thanks all the speakers for their interesting presentations, and BI Norwegian Business School for their kind sponsorship. We also thank everyone who attended the event.
