JUN 18 RETRO | Gender Balance On Corporate Boards
Dear NBA members and friends,
“The Cross-Border Dialogue - Gender Balance On Corporate Boards” hosted by NBA China and Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Shanghai on Friday 18 June was a success for 100+ participants.
There has been great input from leading companies on HOW to improve the gender imbalance on corporate boards. As stated by Norges Bank Investment Management, it makes financial sense to have more females on boards. Personal anecdote on how not sharing table with female members of the family spurred life-long commitment to gender balance also moved the audience. Or how declining to partaking at seminars with no female speaker is a small step in increasing awareness.
The event welcomed high level speaker to discuss gender balance from the perspectives of researchers, investors, and companies. We were honored to have speakers from UN Women China, Deloitte China, Governance Solutions Group, McKinsey Greater China, FutureBoards , Norges Bank Investment Management, Wikborg Rein China, Aker BioMarine ASA, Forbes China 福布斯中国, and Ladies Who Tech.
NBA China’s chair Therese Trulsen moderated the session on comparative analysis between Norway and China with speakers David Wu and Turid Elisabeth Solvang. Thanks also to Therese and Turid for the summarizing dialogue with closing remarks.
Special thanks to all great speakers as well as our sponsors DNB, Kongsberg Maritime, Wikborg Rein China, Yara International!
