Dear NBA Members:

One of the board members representing Beijing, Mathias Boyer, has recently informed the board of his decision to step down from the position as a Board member in line with the requirements of the bylaws of the NBA stipulating that if a Board member resigns from his company, then he must vacate the Board and stand for reelection.
 
Mathias has recently left his position as Chief Representative at our member company Danske Bank A/S and has begun employment as General Manager of TuSimple AI.
 
Since the announcement of the board vacancy (NBA newsletter, June), three of NBA members have applied for the position, namely (in Alphabetical Order):
 

  • Helen Yu, Aker Solutions
  • Haifeng Wu, Kongsberg Digital
  • Mao Zhen, Pan Pacific Bosun Oilfield Technology

 
We are pleased to have three strong candidates, whilst an election must be held given there is only one vacant seat available.
 
As the Article of Association mentions, the representative of each corporate member will be eligible to vote. The election will follow a simple procedure:

  • Write down your preferred candidate via WeChat.

 
NBA admin team will consolidate all the votes and update the election result at the earliest.

 

 

Candidate 1: Helen Yu, Aker Solutions

Helen was working for Sinopec as commercial manager before she joined AkerKvaerner China in 2002. She worked as Business Development Manager and then Public Affairs Director for Aker Solutions China from 2002 to 2013. She took the General Manager role of Kvaerner China in 2012, after the demerger between Aker Solutions and Kvaerner. She is now Aker Solutions China Legal Representative and the Key Account Manager to CNOOC. She also takes the roles of the Chairman of Aker Solutions Subsea (Shenzhen) and the General Manager of Aker Solutions Beijing entity.
 
With Helen’s broad knowledge of the clients in Chinese Oil & Gas industry, she has been devoted to bring Aker Solutions most state of art technologies, products and engineering services to China. Her rich experience, good connections and insightful understandings are not only referred to Chinese fossil energy, but also to the ever-booming renewables in China, such as Offshore Floating Wind, Carbon Capture and digitalization. She understands the clients’ needs and knows how to help the clients growing their business. She is happy to contribute all her experience and capability to add value to NBA and it’s members who have business in China.

 

 

Candidate 2: Haifeng Wu, Kongsberg Digital

Haifeng Wu
VP, GM of Greater China, Kongsberg Digital
 
Doctorate of Ku Leuven, Doctorate of NTNU. He joined Kongsberg in 2008 and was a marine Process Engineer at that time. He has led and coordinated a number of different major projects within the KONGSBERG Group. Since July 2016, he was named the vice president of Kongsberg Digital AS and the regional general manager of Greater China.
 
As Vice President of Kongsberg Digital and General Manager in Greater China, Mr. Wu hope to bring more of Kongsberg's advanced technologies back to China in order to improve the living environment through technology, as well as achieving carbon neutrality and sustainability. As a member of the Norwegian business delegation, Haifeng have extensive experience and resources in the offshore engineering and energy industry and have facilitated many Sino-Norwegian business partnerships over the past 15 years.

 


 
Candidate 3: Mao Zhen, Pan Pacific Bosun Oilfield Technology

Mao Zhen
Managing director of Marketing & Strategy, Pan PacificBosun Oilfield Technology

 

Mao Zhen is the Managing director of Marketing and Strategy of Pan Pacific Bosun Oilfield Technology a position held since February 2021. Mr. Mao has over 20 years experiences in global energy industry and held various executive level positions in charge of country operations management, strategy planning and development, marketing and sales, contract management, supply chain, service quality, and personnel management functions. Before joining PPBOSUN, he is leading Aker Solutions China as the Country Manager/Head of Customers Management & Legal Representative.
 
Mao zhen has full of enthusiasm for promoting the businesses, especially in the area of Energy sector including renewables, CCUS and digitalization between two countries, since he can clearly see the opportunities in these areas. He had also invested in one startup company in energy sector in Norway and are keeping active dialogue with other potential Norwegian partners. Mr. Mao likes to extend this engagement to other companies and areas if he can serve NBA China as a BoD member.
