NBA China's Annual General Meeting: Board of Director's 2025

The Norwegian Business Association China held its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, 27 March, attracted over 60 participants. The event began with a pre-meeting session, opened by H.E. Vebjørn Dysvik, Norway's Ambassador to China.

The pre-meeting featured remarks from several distinguished speakers, including Tobias F. Svenningsen, Norway’s Consul General in Shanghai; Håvard Figenschou Raaen, Director in the Trade Policy Department at the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries; Henning Kristoffersen, Commercial Counsellor at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Beijing and Country Director of Innovation Norway China; Sigmund Bjørgo, Director China at the Norwegian Seafood Council; and Jian Guo, China Country Manager at NORWEP.

Speakers shared updates on key topics shaping the Sino-Norwegian business landscape. These included the latest developments in bilateral relations, planned initiatives from the Embassy and Consulates to support Norwegian companies, and ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries, such as high-level visits and engagement in trade events across China. The session also explored emerging trends in Norway–China trade, reaffirming China’s position as Norway’s largest trading partner in Asia and a vital export market. Updates on seafood exports highlighted significant growth potential, and NORWEP presented its upcoming events and strategic plans for the year.

The pre-meeting provided a valuable platform for attendees to gain insights into the latest developments and opportunities in the Sino-Norwegian business landscape.

Following the pre-meeting, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) commenced. Bård Bjerken, Vice Chair of NBA China, presented the NBA Annual Report, outlining key achievements and deliverables from the past year, along with the strategic outlook and objectives for the year ahead. The newly elected NBA Board of Directors for 2025 was also announced, comprising three board members based in Beijing, seven in Shanghai, and one representing South China.
